Event Information
World’s Toughest Mudder® is the culminating event of the Tough Mudder Event calendar and takes the concept of being a Tough Mudder to a whole new level. This extreme competition puts the world’s most hardcore Mudders℠ through a grueling 24-hour challenge designed to find the toughest man, woman, and 4-person team on the planet.
Competitors have 24 hours to complete as many laps of a Tough Mudder course as they can. At the 24 hour mark, all competitors must complete the lap they are on and the winners will be whichever participants have completed the greatest number of laps. In the event that multiple participants complete the winner’s total number of laps, the winners will be whichever participants cross the finish line of the final lap first.
Unlike other Tough Mudder events, this event is a competition and the winners receive cash prizes.
WTM 2013 Eligibility
Before you consider entering World’s Toughest Mudder®, you must understand that only those in peak PHYSICAL and MENTAL condition should even think about this. Not only will you need to be mentally prepared, but you also must earn an entry code by qualifying in one of the ways outlined below.
- 2013 Tough Mudder Participants – Complete a 2013 Tough Mudder course (or Florida 2012) in the top 5% of participants on that day. You can report your course time in the first week after the event you run to see if you qualify. Of course, this is self-timed since normal Tough Mudder events are not races, but Mudders don’t lie.
- Wildcard Applicants – Wildcard applicants are chosen and given an entry code to compete based on eligibility and space available. Tough Mudder reserves the right to only release entry codes to wildcard entrants that we believe have earned it.
- Previous WTM Participants – Anyone badass enough to have participated in a past WTM will be given an entry code and treated with utmost respect for returning in 2013.

Prizes
In addition to being named World’s Toughest Mudder®, the event’s winners (one male, one female, and one 4 + person team) will each receive a cash prize.
Course Information
TMHQ is hard at work designing the course to end all obstacle courses. Competitors will run laps of a 10 mile challenge featuring a healthy dose of the world’s most challenging obstacles. The winner will be the Mudder that completes the greatest number of laps over a grueling 24-hour period.
While WTM obstacles will remain a mystery until event weekend, it’s safe to assume that obstacles at previous Tough Mudder events will only scratch the surface of the trials WTM competitors will be subjected to. Qualifiers should expect the event to require cardiovascular stamina, brute strength, agility, dexterity, mental grit, and most of all a passion to prove oneself to be the Toughest Mudder on this good green earth.
The event will feature a pit area where each competitor may set up a tent in order to sleep, eat, and warm up as they deem necessary. This pit area is for the competitors only; no spectators are allowed in the pit area. Spectators will have a separate section from which they can enjoy the event.
