5 Reasons Tough Mudder Is for Everyone, But Not Just Anyone

Think you’ve got what it takes to conquer Tough Mudder? Everyone is welcome, but it’s not for just anyone. Here are five things you need to know if you’re going to get yourself in the right mindset for a showdown with the mud.

1. Say goodbye to your comfort zone

Are you willing to face your fears and dive out of your comfort zone? If the answer isn’t ‘yes’ then you may as well stop reading right now. This is an experience you will remember for the rest of your life and it isn’t going to be easy… but it will be worth it. And once you’ve broken out of your comfort zone, we guarantee you’ll be back for more.

2. It takes commitment

We aren’t asking for marriage and babies. All we want from you is some hard work. Commitment and dedication will make or break your event day. This is no walk in the park, and you need to train hard if you want to get to the end and claim that headband.

Luckily, we have all the training tips you need to make the commitment and give the course the respect it deserves. From full training programs to bite-size 10-minute workouts, we’ve got you covered.

3. Egos aren’t welcome

Let’s get one thing straight: The Tough Mudder Challenge Series this isn’t a competition. There are no prizes for finishing first. If you want to experience Tough Mudder properly you’re going to have to leave that mindset at the start line.

Teamwork is at the heart of Tough Mudder and you will need it to get you to the end. You’ll be expected to help your fellow Mudders complete the course, just as they’ll give their all to make sure you reach the finish line.

In other words… muck in or get out.

4. You’ll need to get down and dirty

Obstacles are what we do. We design the biggest and the baddest obstacles you’ve ever seen. They aren’t for the faint-hearted, so if you’re afraid of hard work and are-you-outta-your-mind challenges, this is not the event for you. But if battling through miles of mud and plunging yourself into freezing ice water sounds like your idea of a good time, you’re in the right place.

5. It takes guts to give

Don’t get us wrong, smashing a personal goal at Tough Mudder will feel epic. But how good would you feel knowing that you’ve conquered one of the toughest courses around while raising money for a cause you care about? Now that’s something you could dine out on for the rest of your life.

If the ice cold finish line beer isn’t enough to get you through the course then taking on the challenge for charity will be. There are plenty of charities to choose from so go ahead and embrace the true spirit of Tough Mudder by doing it for someone who can’t. Go to the official charity listings to choose your cause now.
