The Mudder: Gary Belanger
Hi my name is Gary B, this will be my 10th Tough Mudder. I’m excited to be running another 12 hour event – I just love the events!
What made you want to do your first Tough Mudder?
I wanted to try something different. I ran several Spartan races and heard about Tough Mudder, so I ran my first race in 2016. I was looking forward to a different kind of challenge.
What makes you keep coming back to Tough Mudder?
I keep coming back to Tough Mudder for the different challenges, the camaraderie, I definitely made friends out here that I love seeing, and I love pushing myself to see what I can do.
If you had to convince someone to do a Tough Mudder, what would you tell them?
The best way to convince someone to come out to run a Tough Mudder is just letting them know they’re not alone and there’s always someone willing to help you. It’s a fun event, low pressure, lots of fun, and lots of community. A great event!
How has Tough Mudder allowed you to face your fears from the on-course experience?
One of my big fears is water-type stuff. I’m not a strong swimmer, so going through obstacles like Cage Crawl and knowing I have to get through it no matter what has made me face that fear – now outside of these events, it’s been less concerning to me.
Closing remarks…
I’m definitely excited to keep running, tonight’s my 10th Tough Mudder. I have World’s Toughest Mudder coming up in a few months, and I look forward to running these events in the future!
Get involved with GoFundMe
I’ve used GoFundMe for many charities. It’s a great website because it allows you to expand the reach of your fundraising. It’s an easy site to use; you can give updates and keep everyone involved, and it allows you to do so on a global scale. GoFundMe makes a much larger impact on your fundraising.
