This event is what I call a “gamble” every year. Anything can happen to the body and mind at any moment. The key to success is how well you can control the unknowns and push the boundaries.
It was cold this year, and the way Tough Mudder set up the rolling open obstacles this year was definitely a shock to the body by the time they all opened after I was 50 miles into the race. I pushed and tried to stay as consistent as possible. I know the game, I’ve been running this race many years now and have learned what the body and mind need to continue pushing through the pains and shivers. It got very cold, and it definitely changed the dynamics of the way my body was able to move to and try to keep up with what I mentally wanted. I went through some dark moments but in those dark moments, I knew what my purpose was out there and what I was there for and who I am as a person. “I will go the full 24 hours and if I end up with 95 or 100 miles, I’m extremely happy with my performance and leaving my soul behind on course.” Many folks weren’t able to keep up with the process and bowed out early. Training, knowing your body, the environment, and what your success looks like at the end, gets you to the finish.
I’m proud of my fellow competitors and what they each completed. Thank you TMHQ for the amazing event, as always. Thank you Coach, Clinton, Sean, and Jason for being up with us all night either DJing or being there at the finish/start line lap after lap. Thank you elliot.rueb and kelsee_montagna for all of the help and support. Couldn’t do this without a solid crew to keep me on track.
Thank you natashavdm81 for your coaching wisdom and expertise throughout the year (we still have work to do for 160 mile snow sled pull in December 🤫)
Have you ever had a day you felt you looked your worst, yet you had someone come up and compliment you? Found yourself surrounded by people who you 100% feel you relate to? Have you walked into a room filled with hundreds of people you dont know, but can strike up a conversation with any of them as if you`ve been friends for years? Have you been about to challenge yourself and do something crazy, and have thousands of people surrounding you telling you, you can do this, not asking you `why would you do that?`. That`s what Worlds Toughest Mudder feels like. I saw a post by someone saying if you go to WTM and cant run the full 24 hours you shouldn`t be there, needless to say this individual has never actually ran a WTM, because if he had he`d see and know, the all inclusive community of WTM. You have the elites, you have those sitting at obstacles all night to help others, and you have people pushing as hard as they can and that may only be for 16 hours. Or 8. Or 21. Worlds Toughest Mudder will take place in Dallas in 2020, and I think you should come. Plus it`s not a spartan, so don`t think your penalties will be burpees, I promise if you run OCR you can do their `must complete` obstacles (this year Everest penalty was the Mini Mudder course, headband included). So many people simply stay comfortable and don`t find their boundaries. Dont be one of those people. Leave the house before you find a reason to stay in. Register for WTM before you convince yourself of a reason not too. And don`t forget your wetsuit. . . As for my 2019 WTM, I still got a 40 mile training run in with a new great friend, got to ride in one those medical gators and get awkwardly naked in the med tent. #winning? Still a good enough time to return for round 3 in 2020. It’s been four years since I ran my last World’s Toughest Mudder, and I haven’t stepped foot on a Tough Mudder course to compete since. Hell, it’s been well over a year since I’ve touched an obstacle race in general. . I acknowledge the part of me that whispers “You know, that was a good chapter in your life. Maybe you should just leave it as it was and not try and recreate the magic.” I acknowledge that there’s some ego involved in that. And I know that, in the past, ego has kept me away. . But louder than that voice of ego is the voice that tells me that World’s Toughest Mudder is home for me: it’s how this crazy athletic journey of mine started. And in this whirlwind last year of mine, more than anything, I’ve recognized the importance of home. Of connecting with my roots. And of the people who mean so much to me. . So I’m SO excited to return home this weekend for 24 hours of mud, freezing cold, super flattering pictures, and all the weird sht that happens along the way. Let’s go play. tough_mudder #worldstoughestmudder #wtm2019...
What a difference a year (and a decent shower) makes! 😂🙈 Throwback Thursday to last year‘s Toughest Mudder Midlands. And good luck to everyone racing TM Midlands and Philly this coming weekend. 💪🏻 Unfortunately I am not allowed to fly this close to my due date anymore otherwise I would have come out for some muddy hugs from my favorite muddy people. 🖤 Fun fact: I ran the 24h World‘s Toughest Mudder in Atlanta last year at 11 weeks pregnant. I really miss racing and rolling around in the mud, and I hope to be back for the 2020 season. . . . #toughestmudder #toughestmuddermidlands #toughestmuddertraining #worldstoughestmudder #wtm #wtm2019 #toughermudder #roadtowtm #ocr #obstaclecourse #obstaclecourseracing #electroshocktherapy #mudrun #wtm2018 #roadtoworldstoughestmudder #roadtoatlanta #roadtowtm #roadtowtm2019 #elitecontender #orphantent #mudrunguide #toughmudder #toughmudderuk #obstacleracing #obstacleracingmedia #mudchick #spartangirl #beautyandthebeastmode...
We made it to TEXASSSS!!! ♥️ WTM tomorrow for these two crazies and a crazy, cheerleader, photographer, videographer to keep you all entertained! 🤪🙌🏼 Who are we seeing there?
It’s true that all good events must come to an end… and despite being sad that it’s over, it was SO SO much fun pit crewing for these 2 AMAZING humans at Worlds Toughest Mudder in Texas! 🤩🥳🙌🏼
Been way too long being away from this incredible community and missing you all already ➡️ I would definitely do it again!
Stay tuned for a ridiculous amount of photos/videos! 🧡
Its been roughly 730 days, 3300 miles ran between today and the last time I toed the start line of Worlds Toughest Mudder. There`s been so much covered in those 2 years that it feels like a lifetime. This race has always scared the crap out of me, those minutes when you`re in the starting coral and you`re facing this epic race of pretty monumental proportions. Knowing you`re going to be cold, hot, electrocuted, world reduced to a headlamp, beat up, mentally wore down, and for an entire day. It`s always made me feel so small in that moment. This year, I don`t quite feel that. Dont get me wrong, I`m wicked anxious for what can go wrong, but I`m focused on what will go right. I`m actually fairly confident in my abilities. For like the first time in my life, I`m confident I can do the mileage I have in my head & I`m looking forward to it. These races have a way of reminding you through every scrape, bruise and mile that you are alive. After all the crap of the last 2 years, we all need to be reminded just how that feels.
If you could send positive vibes to every single one of the competitors about to head out on course tomorrow for the next 25.5 hours, I would love it. To everyone out here about to give it your best, just hold on. When the event is over you either hurt because you gave it your all, or hurt because you quit, and the hurt from quitting will never disappear.
As someone who lives in a notoriously flat prairie state, don`t bet on me 😂, but I`ll give it my best shot. Working on living a life I won`t regret.🤘
The first ever Women’s 100 Mile Orange Jacket winner Kris Rugloski!
Kris made history this year at World’s Toughest Mudder with her 100 mile performance. The previous women’s record was 90 miles, set by Amelia Boone and later tied by Rea Kolbl and Katie Knight.
Cold is probably my worst race condition, so being cold and wet all day for pit set up is not the most confidence inflating thing. 😂 Here`s to hoping we all make it 24 hours (further) injury free, help people find their best, and set personal bests. No cliche plug about this being hard blah blah blah, its worlds toughest mudder. It`s going to be hard. That`s the whole point. Kick some ass, make some noise and I`ll see ya`ll on the flip side. ❤💪 . . #worldstoughestmudder #wtm #ocr #grind #strongissexy #justkeepgoing #liveyourbestlife #optoutside #trailrunner #ultrarunner...
Throwback to 40ft cliff jumps during World’s Toughest Mudder. I`m glad I got to experience this event at it`s prime, but still planning to earn a 3rd orange jacket once everything is back on track... I`ve been asked a lot if Im going to be at WTM this year, and that answer is no. I gave myself this year off from OCR because after WTM last year, my heart just wasn`t in it. So I`m hoping that by taking the year off, it will allow my head and heart to realign and to be able to put my heart and soul back into it. This year brought an entire upheaval of my life, and finding a new groove has been a bit of a challenge. But I`m feeling settled in, finding my new normal and starting to get that itch to be back out there, so probably, next year. But all ya`ll crazies enjoy those 25.5 hours of mud for me 🤘
I`m also starting to get that 200 miler thought in the back of my head 😅😳 anyone else?
World`s Toughest Mudder 2022 Champion 🏆 105 miles 24:27:19 • My body aches, my flesh is mangled, but my spirits are high. I knew one thing going into this race; for better or worse, I put the most thought into it out of anybody competing that day. I obsessed about it like nothing else before. After all the preparation, I told the people closest to me that I could win, that I WAS going to win. I signed up for 2022 just a few short days after my first attempt in 2021. As soon as I decided to register, I was all in. I began making my plans to move out of NY and chase the dream full time in Durango, CO at The UltraHouse. Thank you for the opportunity anthonykunkel. • This race seemed so much tougher than last year. The obstacles appeared more difficult, the temperatures were in the low 30s for most of the time, and you never got dry. NEVER. It rained at the start and as soon as it stopped, the water obstacles opened up and kept you eternally soaked to the bone. Slowing down and getting cold would become the end of your race very quickly. I told myself, "don`t forget you have a lifetime of those CNY winters under your belt. And you trained for the cold all year. You`re ready for anything the weather throws at you." I still have a numbness in the tips of my pinky fingers, but it seems to be fading slowly. • I also had the best team. My people back in NY. The best training partners all year (tagged) and everyone else who came to visit us at The UltraHouse. They truly helped push my running to another level this year. The best pit crew around in escobar_ocr and arrranxa. Javi has some of the most experience at WTM and helped bring all of this together on game day. Aran was there every time I came through to get me back out on course as quickly as possible. No mistakes in the pit with these 2 working together. • Speaking again of Aranxa... doing this whole thing with me over the past 5 years. Agreeing to run around this country with me as I chase this pipe dream when I wasn`t even a runner when we met. Well guess what, WE DID IT! Chase your dreams people. The alternative is never knowing..
Let`s have an awesome weekend! Danke für das Bild portraitiert . Viele Grüße aus Atlanta - ab morgen wird es wild 🙂 #gettingtough #worldstoughestmudder #athlete #wüstenchallenge #champion #instafit #instagood...

It’s been 6 years since I stood on a World’s Toughest Mudder podium. This weekend showed me that I can have big goals, fall short of those, and *still* be thrilled with the results. 85 miles, 340 obstacles, 2nd place woman: my heart is full.
I ran from a place of joy this weekend. It meant giving all the volunteers hugs on course. It meant stopping to thank everyone who gave me a hand over an obstacle. It meant having conversations with other competitors as we trudged through the sand in the middle of the night in the shared misery.
Honestly, there’s no other way I’d want to compete. I spent 10 years trying to find a happy place with racing, and I’ve arrived. I’ll always want to compete and have big goals, but I want to do that in a way that also fills my soul. Maybe I’ve lost that gear in me that says “compete and win at all costs” but I frankly don’t miss it - the collateral damage, both physical and mental, was too great. I like this place that I’m in.
Congrats to k80_knight who ran an absolutely flawless race - excited to see where your OCR career takes you! And to womazonian for hitting your 85 goal - I know how hard that last lap was. I’m so honored to share a podium with both of you.
I left everything out there and I’m proud to be a part of this World’s Toughest Mudder community who still welcomes me back with open arms every year. Congrats to all Mudders - be proud of what you accomplished, even if it didn’t go as planned (it never does 😉). See you next year in…Florida 😖😆
Thank you to TMHQ and kyle_toughmudder (it’s amazing to have a CEO that cares this much) for an epic race. To kedickmann and casifrass - the best pit crew ever! To all the volunteers, the Everest Angels and the Mudderhorn guys. And to my sponsors who have supported me through all of this - ultimatedirectionusa livehuman vengacbd bigspoonroasters
Full write up to follow, but 70 miles and 38th place at World’s Toughest Mudder. It could have been so much better, but I fought to the end and learned so much. A five hour last five mile lap was ‘interesting’… especially when I got to 50 miles in 10 hours 😂
Thank you to my supporters and teams below, the Mudder Nation community, TMHQ, MVPs, Team UK 🇬🇧, and most of all Mike and Charli who were my amazing pit crew 🙏
Thank you so much to those who donated to parkinsonsuk… £1400 raised so far, it really got me through that last lap. Still time to donate to this amazing cause 🙏
So much to tell, but put this race on your bucket list.
Soooo much to say about this weekend’s event. So many lessons learnt. So many regrets and victories over 24 hours of racing.
For now I’m headed home where I’ll recover from almost no sleep at all over 4 days.
A year’s worth of preparation, nerves and training are over and it’s time to take stock and get ready for another season of racing.
Before I heal up and get some much needed shuteye, I’ve already circled my calendar for next November when the #WorldsToughestMudder family will reconvene for another #sufferfest in Florida....
Welp, I made it to #wtm, but I will NOT be running the race I thought I would a week ago. New goal….Start lap and finish lap = 24 hour finisher. Give me a few years and I’ll come back to hit those high mileage goals!! As always, so thankful to have jamierahn there to support every step of the way 💕💕
Sending all of those competing in Worlds Toughest Mudder for the next 24 hours every little bit of love possible!! Particularly to my homie evel_ninja as he runs down that elusive 100 mile bib. Know that I am cheering you on from the mountains tops of Colorado. So if you hear something… might not be hallucinating that time😂 🤷🏻♀️
The 24 hours of this race is something you can never be truly ready for. The version of yourself that begins the race is always different than the one who finishes. Everytime you pass through that finish and choose to take on another lap you are becoming stronger, more able, and more resilient. You are choosing to set and example and make the world a better place. Hard not to share in this race with you. But I’ll see you next year 💪.

Regrann from socal_spartan - What a rollercoaster last weekend was at Worlds Toughest Mudder. For those of you that don`t know what that is, it`s basically running and overcoming obstacles (both physical and mental) for 24 hours. The race kicked off Saturday afternoon at 12pm and the underdogs were on their way. The first hour was strictly running and we made it as far as the funky monkey before obstacles were opened. We completed our first 4 laps (5 miles/lap) without wetsuits and for some reason these were the hardest for me. Wasn`t having a trouble running, just a hip flexor that didn`t want to stop cramping while climbing over walls. Our pit crew was on point throughout the entire race and as we got into our wetsuits for lap 5, mgmeliteor came to the rescue with some pickle juice to cure my cramping issues. From there on I felt like a million bucks! As we ventured off into the night we continued to tackle the obstacles and climbs and pushed the 100 mile pace till about 10pm. At that point some stomach issues slowed the pace and laps began to get longer and longer. By sunrise, at the 55 mile mark, we found ourselves in the pit taking an extended break. We stayed there for a little over an hour and at about 7:30 I continued to finish 2 more laps and hit 65 miles. Not exactly the finish I had anticipated, but I enjoyed my time in the desert and you better believe I`ll be wherever WTM ends up next year! Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey. All your thoughts and prayers were definitely felt out there.

From lap 1, I was fighting. I was running like a hunch back with GI issues and hip pain. Fueling was hard! By lap 5 my Stomach finally settled and paracetamol kicked in and I felt ready to smash it...
...but then, I got back to my pit to see a lot of worried faces. They pulled me into the tent where i found seanmezza5 with a medic. My heart sank 😢 He was smashing it!! He had taken a bad fall and had concussion and double vision. I then spent time doing an orthoptic/eye test on him. (I thought I was on annual leave?! 🙃). I went out on another lap trying to just let medics do their job. I told my pit crew if he is going to hospital my race is done. I spent the lap worried and telling myself it could be my last. I mentally accepted my race could be done. I got back in to be told he was medically DQ`d but allowed to stay. I now I had to try to suddenly change my mind set back to fight. I was on a mental rollarcoaster tonight! I got back out, and I pushed through some more laps.
Lap 10, after a long que for an obstacle, I started to shivver 🥶 i then lost my head torch on the obstacle and had to walk the full 5miles like a zombie, hoping I didn`t trip or fall. I got round but was frozen. I managed to get myself back out, but the cold had already done the damage. I had to drag my left leg round, unable to lift it with shooting pains every time I did. I got back to my tent where we decided that pushing me out wasn`t worth the injury risk after the year I`ve had. Im absolutely gutted. I had so much more to give. Top 5 is within my capabilities. There were tears this morning...
2023 Texas, me and seanmezza5 are coming for you!!
Huge thank you to cludolf for looking after me all night. You were a superstar ✨️ and thank you to every single person I spoke to on course and that helped Sean. 😘
World’s Toughest Mudder! I was supposed to be racing this amazing 24h obstacle championship today, but my hamstring isn’t ready, so I’ll have to cheer for all of my friends from afar! Here’s a throwback to when I ran WTM back in 2017. This race holds a very special place in my heart. ♥️ I will be back!
Now focus is on getting the body ready to perform at Tough Mudder Infinity 8h in Saudi Arabia in February!
Good luck to everyone racing in Texas this weekend! I’ll be following the livestream through the day and night! 😎🔥

WHAT YOU EARN
(IN ADDITION TO BRAGGING RIGHTS)
Finisher Medals
With each Tough Mudder 2024 course shaping up to be even more challenging than in years past, we had to bestow each Mudder with an accolade that was equally worthy of accomplishing such a feat. Complete the course and wear this finisher medal with pride. Are you the collector type? We thought so. Take on more mud, earn more unique medals.
Finisher Shirt
The harsh reality of having a favorite shirt is that it’s usually the garment that suffers the most abuse. Whether you’ve dragged it through the mud one too many times or prematurely cut the sleeves off, chances are you miss the luster of when it was crisp and new. Cross the finish line in 2024 to earn your Tough Mudder finisher tee.
Finisher Headband
Each iconic orange headband symbolizes a badge of honor – crowned upon only the toughest of Mudders – for overcoming intense obstacles, exhibiting extreme mental stamina, and demonstrating unrivaled teamwork & camaraderie. Cross the finish line in 2024 to earn yours.
Finisher Drink
Work hard, celebrate harder. Cross the finish line and earn your free finisher beer or seltzer. You deserve it.
Parking & Bag Drop
Prepay your parking and bag drop fees during check out – taking the hassle out of event day logistics.
