Being a Mudder℠ is all about taking on the obstacles in your life and the enormous sense of accomplishment that you feel when you overcome them.

Ominously looming over the Tough Mudder course, this fire-breathing beast of an obstacle, the crown jewel of Legionnaire’s Loop, is accessible only to Mudder Legionnaires-- Mudders with one or more previous Tough Mudder finishes.

Tough Mudder Capital Region is poised to be one of our toughest courses of the year. Think hydration and carbo-loading on Friday, and extra duct tape on Saturday and Sunday. We'll see you in the MUD.

1) West Virginia Wild

The course routes Mudders across the rugged landscape of Peacemakers National Training Center, taking them through thick forests, swampy corridors, and rugged rock faces. This isn’t a jog on a manicured park route, it’s a walk on the wild side.

Ever since wrapping up in Wisconsin, BQ and the Best Friends Gang have been hard at work setting up Tough Mudder Michigan.

Since we’re the best in the biz, you may ask yourself how the Best Friends Gang handles the task of packing so much nonsense and badassery into one innocent piece of land.

Alright, Michigan. Here’s your answer, in chronological order.

Scouting, designing and setting up Tough Mudder courses is hard work.

And building Tough Mudder Wisconsin at our new Road America venue has been damn hard work. So who are the men, the hearty, wolf-battling men who create such Tough Mudder courses? Glad you asked. Meet BQ and the Best Friends Gang.

Alberta Mudders,

Have you ever ran on the dark side of the moon? Lucky for you, our Tough Mudder Alberta course looks something like that.

We've got quite a course planned for you, look out for these highlights:

1. Your epic journey begins in front of a crowd on the Stampede Horse Track. They'll get to laugh at you as your clothes get caught crawling through Kiss of Mud.

2. You'll get a chance to rev your engines through the moto-x track with some gnarly climbs and stomach turning drops.

The Tough Mudder Operations team on the ground is loving every minute here in Maine, and, amidst all the fun, we thought we’d each share a reason or two as to why we named this week’s event the Great Northeast.

The Obstacles

This Maine course is hard. No seriously, it’s wicked hard. We hit ledge rock everywhere we attempted to excavate, so we were left with two choices. One: Build a mediocre course. Two: Make the obstacles tougher. Obviously, we chose option two. Check out the above-ground Walk the Plank coming your way.

Wow. Just wow. This past weekend, Mudders the globe over answered the international call of camaraderie to commemorate Global Mudder--Tough Mudder’s most epic weekend in our half-decade history.

So just how epic is EPIC? In just 48 hours, the number of worldwide Mudders who crossed our finish line would be able to fill three Madison Square Gardens. That’s right. Three. But the shocking facts, figures and findings don’t stop there. For the skinny on Global Mudder, check out our Global Mudder By the Numbers infographic.

Mudder Nation,
Are you ready to take on Tough Mudder Tahoe?
We are back at Tahoe for our fourth time, and this time we are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at this course. Well, not actually the kitchen sink... but that could be a good obstacle name. We’ll work on that for the future. But for now, back to Tahoe.
In the past we have stuck to a very similar course route at Northstar Resort, but that is all about to change.
Nearly half of this challenge takes place on trails, coming out to hit a barrage of classic and brand new Tough Mudder obstacles, then turning back into winding forest paths. Stay on course, beware of velociraptors.
A Hill-acious Course Route
It wouldn’t be Ohio Valley without Ohio hills.

We’re havin’ a 60,000 person costume party this weekend, and guess what? You’re on the guest list.

In case you haven’t heard, we’re celebrating Global Mudder this weekend, hosting five events in four countries from the Sunshine Coast of Australia to the shores of Lake Tahoe. And while you won’t find any of us lined up behind velvet ropes around town, we do have a dress for this special occasion.

For this weekend only, we’re offering up a grand prize for best costume of the weekend. And here’s how you’ll bring it home:

Every four years, the world’s greatest sporting bodies put on a display of athleticism that grips the globe. FIFA has the World Cup. The IOC has the Olympics. For Tough Mudder, now in its fifth year as the worldwide leader in mud-coated madness, the time to take the world stage is now.

During the weekend of August 16, Tough Mudder will host Global Mudder--a worldwide display of the Mudder spirit so great you need four countries to host it.

So just what is Global Mudder? We thought you'd ask, and we're here to tell you.

From the field of Tough Mudder Portland.
This morning our team decided to test out one of the most epic Mud Miles Tough Mudder has ever built. Prepare to bring everything you’ve got to conquer this obstacle.
It is only 50 yards long, but it took our team of 7 guys a full 10 minutes to get through. You're gonna need all of Mudder Nation to get you through this one.

July was a sizzling summer month of international celebrations and surprises. America turned 238. Joey Chestnut devoured 61 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Brazil lost a World Cup six goals. And the worldwide fanfare surrounding Britain’s Commonwealth Games was at an absolute fever pitch.

Well maybe not the last part, but let’s face it--July kicked ass. And nowhere was that more apparent than on Tough Mudder courses, which shocked and soaked tens of thousands of Mudders across four countries.

Dear Mudders, World’s Toughest Mudders, and Future World’s Toughest Mudders:

It’s that time of year again. The time of year when all of you crazy Mudders start deciding whether you want to put your body through one of the most challenging and badass events on the planet.

Bring up the Twin Cities to anyone in America, and you'll hear the same old things mentioned: BBQ, jazz music, the Ocean. [Or not].
Well, starting this weekend, the list is going to get a little longer after a Tough Mudder so tough and muddy, it'll be unreasonable. Damn unreasonable.
