Introducing: The Repeat Offender Program

By TMHQ | November 9, 2017

Dear Mudder Nation,

Here at TMHQ we are all about innovation and after the great feedback we received following the 2017 season, we wanted to use this forum to address our exciting new announcement: The Repeat Offender Program.

As our event list has grown we've realised that so should your ability to achieve more reward and recognition. Because if you’re taking on more challenges, pushing yourself again, and living outside your comfort zone, you deserve to be rewarded. And sometimes a #HeadBandMonday post on Instagram just doesn’t cut it. That’s where the Repeat Offender program comes in.

What Is A Repeat Offender?

For those in the know, taking part in any of our Competitive Series formats starts you on a Quest for The Holy Grail. That is if you complete at least one of each: Tougher, Toughest and World’s Toughest in one year you’re recognised and rewarded. *Insert applause here*.

And starting in 2018, a similar system will exist for our Half and Full lovin’ Mudders. How does it work? It’s simple. If you complete a Tough Mudder Half AND Tough Mudder Full at some point during a two-year-span, you automatically become a Repeat Offender. That’s it.

How Does This Tie Into Mudder Legion?

Every Repeat Offender is a Legionnaire. But just because you are a Legionnaire, does NOT mean you are a Repeat Offender. A Legionnaire has completed at least one Tough Mudder Full, while a Repeat Offender has completed at least one Tough Mudder Full AND one Tough Mudder Half within two event seasons.

Tough Mudder Full + Tough Mudder Half = Repeat Offender

Scenarios in which you ACHIEVE Repeat Offender Status:

-If you completed a Half or Full in 2017 and you come back and complete the missing piece in 2018.
-If you’re running your first event in 2018 and you complete a Half or a Full, and then you come back in 2019 and complete the missing piece.
-If you complete both a Half and a Full in 2018.

Scenarios in which you DO NOT ACHIEVE Repeat Offender Status:

-If you completed both a Half and a Full in 2017. You still need to come back in 2018 and complete an event.
-If you achieve RO status in 2018 before the season is over and you complete an additional Half and Full. Congrats, you rock. But you can only claim one RO reward per season. Come back in 2019 and one of those additional events can count towards your reward in 2019.
-If you complete either multiple Half events OR multiple Full events (Legionnaire). You need to complete at least one of each.

What Does This Mean For You, Legionnaires?

For you Legionnaires who are worried about change, the things you love about Tough Mudder, our courses, and our community will not be changed. We know this may not be for every Legionnaire (some of you love the 10+ mile course too much to do a 5-miler, we get it and we don’t blame you). Rest assured, Legionnaires, we aren’t taking anything away from you. Rather, Repeat Offender is an incremental reward/ recognition program to encourage other Mudders to build up to a Tough Mudder Full. If you don’t want to miss out on some free Tough Mudder swag, then tack on a Tough Mudder Half to your Tough Mudder Calendar. And while you’re at it, encourage your hesitant friends or family to run the TMH with you, ‘cause maybe they’ll be inspired to run the Tough Mudder Full with you, too. Great way to bring new member into Mudder Nation, don’t you think? We do.

But, if you’re looking for more of a challenge than one Full and one Half, then head straight for the Holy Grail.

Slow Down… What Are All These Titles and Programs?

Legionnaires: Anyone who has completed at least one Tough Mudder Full. For those of you who want to keep crushing 10 mile courses, we would never want to pull you away from the mud. Keep on keepin’ on; we got your back with epic Legionnaire obstacles and other perks.

Repeat Offender: Complete at least one Tough Mudder Half and one Tough Mudder Full over two event seasons (2 years). Our goal is to reward those Mudders who need a little extra somethin’ to get them going and moving up the muddy ranks. We’re giving you two seasons because we don’t leave any Mudders behind, and we know it might be hard for some of you to travel across the country and complete multiple events in a year. But for those of you who can (lookin’ at you, New York Mudders, Southern California Mudders, Texas Mudders, etc.), we expect to see you back on the courses all over your region.

Holy Grail: Complete at least one Tougher Mudder, Toughest Mudder, and World’s Toughest Mudder in one season. Is a Tough Mudder Full like a walk in the park for you? Then game on. Take on our most challenging series and earn Mudder glory.

What Does A Repeat Offender Get?

Simple answer: more free stuff. A Repeat Offender will have earned a new exclusive t-shirt, and a kettlebell collectable - to remind you of your epic achievement (on top of your finisher t-shirt and finisher headband, of course).

Where Do You Get Your Repeat Offender Rewards, Anyway?

When you achieve Repeat Offender status (i.e. when you cross that second finish line), you will receive the official Repeat Offenders T-shirt and the 2x kettlebell collectable. You can collect your swag in Mudder Village at the event where you achieve Repeat Offender status. Repeat Offender rewards will not be mailed to you, so you must collect this reward at a Tough Mudder event.
