Summer Running: Must-Have Gear to Beat the Heat

Gearing up for some serious miles this summer? You can’t outrun the heat, but you can stay comfortable running in hot weather with the right gear. These clothes and accessories will help keep your skin dry and your insides hydrated—and carry you over the finish line in style.

Clothes for Running in Summer

In the wintertime, you can always add another layer to keep warm. In the summer months, however, there’s only so much you can take off without getting arrested. Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics are the ideal choice for summer running shirts and shorts.

  • As its name suggests, New Balance’s Ice 2.0 fabric is designed to cool you down. Shirts and tanks feature mesh side panels for superior ventilation; both are so lightweight you’ll barely know you’re wearing them at all.
