All Navy Special Ops roles have one thing in common – each requires superior physical and mental toughness. The Physical Screening Test (PST) is the first real challenge for those who think they have what it takes to join the world’s most elite warfighters. The PST includes a series of strength, swimming, and stamina tests, and it’s the first bar that every candidate for Navy Special Ops must pass to be considered for a position. A passing score on the PST doesn’t just say you’re ready – it says you’re elite.
Think You Have What It Takes?

- Push Ups: Hit your max in 2 minutes. Measure upper body strength and endurance.
- Sit Ups: Take 2 minutes to measure strength, technique and endurance.
- Pull Ups: Test upper-body strength, grip, and functional power. No time limit.
- Running: Go all out with a 1.5-mile run to evaluate cardio fitness and mental toughness.
- Swimming: Get through 500 yards to prove your confidence, technique and endurance.
