At 15, Dan Kosick, the 2014 Upstate New York Inspiring Mudder of the Year, lost his leg to cancer. Growing up, he struggled emotionally as well as physically with his disability. Then slowly, Dan began to change his attitude. Eventually he looked deep within and thought, “What am I hiding?”
A few years later, Dan became a member of the United States Disabled Alpine Ski Team and traveled the world competing. Today, he’s a proud father of two girls and a role model to children in his community.
Dan didn’t let life’s obstacles hinder his progress, and in true Mudder spirit, Dan Kosick showed us all what it means to finish strong.
