This International Women’s Day, we’re spotlighting women across the Tough Mudder globe; proving that power, resilience, and bravery come in infinite forms. These women aren’t just completing obstacles; they’re breaking barriers, lifting others up, and showing what it really means to be part of the Tough Mudder community.
Michelle Carney: Grit Beyond Limits

“Tough Mudder gave me strength I didn’t know I had. It saved me.”
From battling breast cancer twice to completing her 50th Tough Mudder at World’s Toughest, Michelle has shown the world that resilience is earned in the mud. She leads wheelchair teams, empowers others, and proves every single day that nothing can stop a determined Mudder.
Laura Hudson: Challenge is Her Playground

“Who wouldn’t want to attempt 50 miles in 24 hours with no training?!”
Laura’s first Tough Mudder in 2014 was spontaneous; a last-minute decision fueled by friendship, fun, and a personal mission to raise money for the PSP Association in memory of her Grandad. As a 9-year Ambassador, she volunteers, inspires, and cheers every Mudder across the finish line, turning every obstacle into an opportunity.
Debbie Crewe: Breaking Barriers Together

“No matter your size or fitness level, anything is possible!”
Debbie embodies empowerment through community. She helps others conquer fears and achieve what they once thought impossible, proving Tough Mudder is as much about lifting each other up as it is about finishing the course.
Mildred Wilson: Proof That Age Is Just a Number

“At 83, Mildred didn’t just show up. She conquered.”
At 83 years young, Mildred Wilson completed not one, but two Tough Mudders, becoming the oldest woman to ever finish the course. She didn’t do it for medals. She did it for purpose, resilience, and love; running in honour of her late husband and proving that strength has no age limit.
With doctor’s approval, training at her local YMCA, and unstoppable determination, Mildred crushed every obstacle including Everest showing the world that you are never too old, too late, or too far gone to start something extraordinary. Her story is living proof that courage doesn’t retire, it rises.
Clara Norman: Proof That Ability Isn’t a Barrier

“If you’ve got heart, you CAN cross that finish line.”
Clara’s TM journey started in 2015 at a corporate charity event and quickly became a full-blown passion. A former competitive fighter turned adaptive athlete, Clara found in Tough Mudder a way to reclaim her strength, purpose, and connection to others. With 84 Mudders under her belt and counting, Clara inspires everyone she meets; showing that resilience and heart outweigh any limitation.
Elizabeth Wilson Lukancich: Strength, Heart & 55 Miles of Grit

“You’re never alone out there. And that changes everything.”
Elizabeth came to Tough Mudder in 2016 looking for something different from road racing. What she found was family and a purpose bigger than any finish line.
From day one, she was hooked by the community and the chance to lift others, especially helping adaptive athletes in wheelchairs cross the line. Those smiles, hugs, and shared victories are why she keeps coming back. Her defining moment came at World’s Toughest Mudder. After supporting her husband as pit crew in 2021 while he smashed 75 miles, Elizabeth returned determined to earn her brown bib. When a brutal cold forced her husband to stop mid-race, she carried on alone; pushing through pain, exhaustion, and severe chafing to crush her goal and finish 55 miles in 24 hours. At sunrise, she crossed the line and her husband placed the brown bib around her neck; a moment that captured everything Tough Mudder stands for: grit, love, teamwork, and heart.
Her advice? Show up, ask for help, do what you can and trust that in the mud, you’re never alone.
Melissa Linden: From Zero to Elite

“Show up with what you have. The community will carry you the rest of the way.”
Melissa didn’t grow up athletic. She couldn’t even run ¼ mile without stopping. Her first Tough Mudder? Hypothermia. Ripped trousers. Med tent visits. And yet she was instantly hooked.
What followed was a journey that took her from novice runner to elite endurance athlete. She trained relentlessly. She chased bigger challenges. She earned podiums, Holy Grails, and elite contender status. She even ran a Toughest Mudder on her honeymoon, veil and all. Now a hybrid powerhouse across endurance racing, ultramarathons, powerlifting, and OCR, Melissa proves that limits are learned and can be unlearned. Her story is living proof that you don’t start strong… you become strong.
Alanna Jodi: Rebuilding From the Inside Out

“Your past doesn’t define your power. Your next step does.”
After leaving a toxic, emotionally abusive relationship, Alanna felt lost; searching for strength, purpose, and herself. Tough Mudder became her turning point. Training turned into transformation. Obstacles rebuilt confidence. The community rebuilt belief. Now she shows up stronger, braver, and determined to lift others while pushing herself further every year. For Alanna, Tough Mudder isn’t just an event; it’s proof that healing is powerful and strength can be rebuilt.
Georgia Holmes: Strength, Community, and a Pint at the End

“It doesn’t matter what your fitness level is, everyone supports each other.”
Georgia’s love for challenges led her to Tough Mudder, but it’s the community that keeps her coming back. Every obstacle tests both body and mind, and every finish line proves that strength grows when you lift each other up. And yes, she always makes sure to celebrate with a well-earned pint!
Kris Rugloski: World Record holder, unbreakable.

“Limits exist to be shattered.”
Kris didn’t just compete at World’s Toughest Mudder; she rewrote history. Setting a new women’s world record, Kris proved exactly what’s possible when discipline, grit, and relentless belief collide.
Her performance wasn’t just about miles. It was about mental warfare, physical endurance, and refusing to quit when everything hurts. She stands as proof that women belong at the very top of endurance sport and they’re only getting started.
Samantha Lee: Turning Survival into Strength

“I Mudder to celebrate the life I fought for.”
For half her life, Samantha battled debilitating pain, medical misogyny, and a healthcare system that refused to listen. After years of being dismissed, she fought for a hysterectomy at just 24; a decision that ultimately saved her life when undetected cervical cancer was discovered. Her recovery sparked a journey into fitness, freedom, and self-belief. While living in China, Samantha signed up for her first Tough Mudder and never looked back.
Now, she returns year after year to celebrate her hysterversary on course, running proudly with a plush toy uterus to spark conversations and smash stigma around reproductive health.
Samantha mudders to celebrate survival, to empower women because movement is freedom. Most importantly; she Mudders because it’s pure, unforgettable fun.
Natalie Mason: Strength Built, Not Given

“Strength isn’t something you arrive with; it’s something you build, one uncomfortable step at a time.”
Natalie signed up for her first Tough Mudder when she felt she had no fight left. What she found was mental strength, resilience, and a community that redefines what strong looks like. Her journey proves that showing up is powerful and transformation begins the moment you do.
Charli Parvin: Redefining What Strong Looks Like

“You don’t have to fit the stereotype of fitness to belong here.”
Charli discovered that mental strength matters just as much as physical strength and that Tough Mudder is a place where everyone belongs. Through TM, she’s found confidence, community, and friendships with some of the strongest women she knows.
