Tough Mudder Pittsburgh: Top 5 Things To Do

Yinz ready? After you take teamwork and hustle to the mud at your Tough Mudder event, we’re heading to Pittsburgh to keep the party going. These are our picks of things to do in Pittsburgh to turn your event day into an adventure weekend.

5 Top Pittsburgh Things To Do

1. Explore Lawrenceville

Lawrenceville’s trendiness is eclipsed only by its options. Just some of these are The Round Corner Cantina, The Abbey, Church Brew Works, and Arsenal Cider Company. And for a rare night time treat, keep an eye on Belvedere’s Ultra-Dive. You may just find yourself roller skating in the club at midnight while a rap battle mix takes the DJ stand.

2. Shop At The Strip District

The Strip District’s open-air flea markets hit their stride on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Grab a sandwich topped with coleslaw and French fries at Primanti Bros. original location. Top it off with dessert at Peace, Love, and Little Donuts or a mid-day sip at Wigle Whiskey.

3. Catch A Game, Any Game

September is the athletics sweet spot. The Penguins (NHL), Pirates (MLB), Steelers (NFL), Riverhounds (USL), and college sports are all actively competing across the three rivers for fame, fortune, and the best view in sports.

4. Catch Perspective at Randyland

Nestled in the North Shore away from the madding crowd of Pirates and Steelers fans is Randyland, an eclectic outdoor art exhibit that is completely free. Randyland is also close to a host of museums so you can get your culture on in one afternoon.

5. Get Out To Ohiopyle

Just outside of Pittsburgh are the vast trailheads dotting Ohiopyle State Park. Also within the park’s parameters is architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic modern home, Fallingwater, which is open year-round for tours.

Sign up for your Tough Mudder Pittsburgh event on September 24th or 25th, before the start wave you want sell out
