2022 marks the 12TH YEAR since the first Tough Mudder and we are amazed at how Mudder Nation continues to show up BIGGER & BADDER year over year. Accomplishments that take place in the mud can begin as early as a first timer going through the start chute to the finish line, to an aspiring 30x legionnaire trying to earn yet another headband. Looking back gets us equally excited to look ahead and know 2023 is coming in FAST. Keep reading as we highlight 4 of the best moments in the mud we remember from the 2022 season.
1. Badass Legionnaires: 100x spotlight
Completing one Tough Mudder is an incredible feat, but when you get a taste of being a part of the Tough Mudder Legionnaire community – it’s easy to bite off more than the ‘one & done’ Mudder. In 2022, we had a number of people earn their golden headband by completing a total of 100 TOUGH MUDDERS. This dedication takes time, grit and the physical wherewithal to be up for such a challenge. Will you join the Tough Mudder Legion in 2023?
2. New Distances, who dis?
2022 was the first year we introduced the 10K & Tough Mudder Infinity. The 10K is the *sweet spot* that allowed thousands to find immense accomplishment crushing 6+ miles and 20 obstacles. This new format was so immensely popular, we are ensuring a 10K distance is available to all of Mudder Nation at each one of our 2023 events. Tough Mudder Infinity acted as the gateway to Tough Mudder Endurance, allowing Mudders to stack the most amount of laps they could on course – testing their endurance in the mud.
3. Setting records in the Mud: WTM Edition
Ever wonder what being on the Tough Mudder course for 24 hours straight would look like? Well, it’s as hard as it looks. Thousands of brave souls each year accomplish what is arguably the pinnacle of Tough Mudder Endurance achievement, but there are only a few that step up to earn the 100 mile bib. In 2022, we had DJ Fox & Kris Rugloski take the W for Men’s and Women’s. Both equally notable feats of endurance, but we are still glowing at the fact that Kris was the first woman in Tough Mudder history to take down 100 miles at WTM. Bravo, Kris.
4. A FEARLESS lifestyle, for those who dare
Tough Mudder is not a weekend hobby, it’s a lifestyle choice that you willingly choose to take a part in. Whether it’s being open to the physical challenge and having the mental grit to complete our obstacles, or simply the willingness to operate as a team with muddy strangers, we made thousands of Tough Mudders face their fears in 2022 and allowed them to become FEARLESS.
Want to make your own memories & face your own fears on the Tough Mudder course in 2023?! It’s time to sign up, secure your spot at the start line, and begin thinking about how YOU can make it on the 2023 Tough Mudder season recap of the best moments in the mud.
